Done with the content of the paper? Now it must be time for the formatting of your paper. As a student, you must be aware of the different formatting styles. The most commonly used are APA and MLA formats. However, an essay writer is required to choose a format depending upon your discipline. Let’s look into that when discussing the formats. Before we start, keep in mind that you must follow the format which is assigned by the instructor, else it will result in a loss of grade or you can ask others to write essay for me.

APA Format

APA stands for American Psychological Association and used by this association for documentation purposes. It is used generally for papers based on topics of social sciences. It includes anthropology, psychology, business, sociology, criminology, education, nursing, and more. You can use it to format your documents like essays, research papers, journal articles as well as books. Bear in mind, you will be asked to use this format for only the subjects mentioned above. Here’s the guide on how you can format your document in APA style.

Title Page

It is the first age of the document containing your paper’s title, name of the author, as well as institutional affiliation. You should not use any titles like Ph.D. or Dr. with your name. You must add the page header flush left while the page number is present flush right at the page top. The running header of the title should be like this:

Next start the abstract on the next page with the page header described before. Write “Abstract” in the center of the first-line without making it bold, italics, underlined, or any punctuation. Without indenting, start the abstract from the next line and write it in only 150 or 250 words. Then type Keywords in italics and state the keywords relevant to your paper. It should be double-spaced, and the font can be Times New Roman with a font size of 12 pts.

Main Body

In the main body, you must format your text and headings in the APA style. Every paragraph is indented while the font is preferably Times New Roman (12 pts). Style the headings in the following format.

Level 1 Heading: centered, bold
Level 2 Heading: flush left, bold
Level 3 Heading: indented, bold
Level 4 Heading: indented, bold, italics
Level 5 Heading: indented, italics

From this guide, you may also compare APA vs MLA, and determine the differences easily. Now let’s move onto the MLA formatting style, but first, learn when to use it.

MLA Format

MLA is an abbreviation of Modern Language Association and this format is specified by this association for research papers, essays, and other academic documents. It is used commonly for topics based on humanities, like history, language, literature, arts, philosophy, religion, theatre, law, anthropology, and politics. Follow the guide given below to format your document in MLA style.

Title Page

Unless your instructor specifies, you are not required to make a title page in MLA format. Your information will be included on top of the first page of the document.

Usually abstract is not included in the MLA format but you can place one if needed. Place it after the title and before the content of your document. Make it double-spaced, Times New Roman, and font size 12 pts.

Main Body

For the body, keep the font Times New Roman and font size as 12 pts while all the text must be double spaced. Also, ensure that every paragraph you compose is indented. For headings, follow the given style:

Level 1 Heading: bold, flush left
Level 2 Heading: italics, flush left
Level 3 Heading: centered, bold
Level 4 Heading: centered, italics
Level 5 Heading: underlined, flush left

Lastly, cite the sources and include the references in their respective styles. Make sure your font style is consistent throughout the paper. It is better to choose Times New Roman or Arial. In case you need help, hire a paper writing service now.
